Austin Lounge Lizards (Satirical Folk Music) at Mucky Duck Pub
Lizards arrangements often include harmonies and instrumentals that are themselves a spoof of the conventions of bluegrass, country, rock and pop music. Austin Lounge Lizards grew out of the songwriting relationship between Hank Card and ConradDeisler, who met as history majors at Princeton University and started writing together in 1976. With the founding trio originally playing Austin and Texas dates while keeping day jobs as varied as bailiff, construction foreman and administrative law judge, the band-  with various supplemental players in and out over the years and currently two new women members - has been touring nationally and internationally since 1987. Mucky Duck Pub - tickets $20 through Mucky Duck Pub, 2425 Norfolk, Houston, TX 77098 (713-528-5999)
