I am a Licensed Psychologist associated with the Texas A&M University,
Corpus Christi campus. I also maintain a private practice in psychology.

I work primarily with individuals and couples. My techniques are mostly
cognitive and behavioral. I do use hypnosis in a wide variety of issues. I teach
and specialize in short-term, action-oriented therapy.
I provide services in the following areas: Anxiety, Depression, Divorce Recovery, Gay/Lesbian Issues, Grief and Loss, HIV Positive Issues, Hypnosis, Pain Management, Panic Disorder, Phobias, Physical Abuse/Violence, Post Traumatic Stress, Sexual Abuse Survivors, Weight Management, and Women's Issues. I work primarily with Adolescents and Adults.

Policies
I require at least 24 hour notice of cancellation of appointment or client will
be billed for session. Please come at least 30 minutes before first scheduled
appointment in order to fill out necessary paperwork.

I received my Ph.D. from the University of Georgia, graduating in 1977. My B.A.
in Psychology (cum laude with honors) degree was received from Vanderbilt
University in 1967 and M.S. in Counseling from the University of Tennessee in
1972.

I teach full-time in the College of Education at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. I
am also the area coordinator for counseling in the Department of Professional
Studies. I teach counseling courses and supervise practicums.
Continuing Education
I conduct seminars for mental health professionals in the areas of ethics, brief therapy, hypnosis, DSM-IV, and Surviving Managed Care. I am certified in Clinical Hypnosis and am an Approved Consultant by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis.
