Action Alert! Consolidation Bill Action Needed

BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT

The "Consolidation Bill" (HB 2898) is scheduled for a hearing before the Public Health Committee tomorrow (Tuesday, April 11th).For the past several months, legislators have heard from TPA as the professional association representing psychologists about our opposition to this bill. However, it is now the point in the process where your legislators need to hear from you - a constituent who is in their district.

ACTION REQUEST

It's imperative that you, a psychologist at the local level, contact your Representative(s) before tomorrow's public hearing. Please take two minutes, call your Representative, and ask them to NOT SUPPORT HB 2898 as it is currently written.

Example: "I am a licensed psychologist in your district. I live in {insert city/town} and I am calling to ask Representative {insert Representative's name} to NOT SUPPORT HB 2898as it is currently written. Psychology is a doctoral-level profession and TSBEP should be kept an independent agency and independent board with rule-making authority."

Please make these calls before 5 p.m. tomorrow.

If you do not know the Representative(s) in your district, you can find who represents you here. This site also will provide contact information.
