Previous legislative experience not required!

If you have never attended a TPA Legislative Day or participated in professional advocacy activities, April’s Legislative Day is a great place to start. You do not need any previous experience.

  • 57% of attendees were returning Legislative Day veterans who had previously attended a TPA Legislative Day.
  • 43% of attendees were brave, new, advocating souls who decided to attend Legislative Day for the very first time.
  • 79% of attendees reported having previously engaged in professional advocacy.
  • 21% of attendees reported this being their first time engaging in professional advocacy.

Feeling unprepared on legislative issues? Onsite briefing provides all the information you need!

We know that the legislative process can feel intimidating, but we ensure that attendees receive all the relevant information and support prior to attending the meeting with your legislators. Onsite briefing packets include TPA Bill Summary and Priority Bill Talking Points. Packets also included a number of charts.

  • 100% of attendees said that the content provided onsite during the briefing was very helpful or extremely helpful.
  • 93% of attendees said they receive adequate materials and information in their onsite packets.

Going in groups of two or three to a meeting is a great option, so bring a colleague to the next Legislative Day with you.

You should have been there!

In addition to the positive feedback we heard from your colleagues about the event meeting or exceeding their expectations, we heard from many of them how much they wished that there were MORE psychologists in attendance. We need you at the April 12th and May 5th Legislative Days.

  • 100% of attendees recommend or highly recommend Legislative Day to their colleagues.
  • 71% of attendees reported Legislative Day exceeding their expectations, while 29% said it met their expectations.
  • When asked, “How could future legislative days be improved?” 42% of attendees referenced a need for more psychologists to be present.

We need you at the April 12th and May 5th Legislative Days.

“I’ll be back.”

After realizing the significance of this session’s bills and what is at stake for the profession of psychology in Texas – and experiencing that the process is simple, empowering and effective – March Legislative Day attendees plan to return to future Legislative Days.

  • 86% of attendees reported it is extremely likely they will attend another Legislative Day.
  • 14% said they are somewhat likely to come again.

Will you join them?
