Psychological Foundation is the foundation entity of Texas
Psychological Association organized exclusively for charitable,
educational, and scientific purposes.Funds received, primarily by tax deductible donation, may be used to:
Stimulate interest and knowledge of psychology to the public;
Recognize excellence and achievement in graduate training by granting awards, scholarships, and fellowships;
Encourage
the design and development of novel techniques and innovative programs
for providing effective psychological; services in schools,
institutions, industries, and in the community-at-large;
Promote or fund basic and/or applied research programs in psychology;
Encourage and support scholarship and publication in the field of psychology; and
Develop materials and programs for the advancement of professional education in psychology
Gifts and Awards include:
Alexander Award: Provides an award for the best paper submitted by a graduate student in psychobiology, psychophysiology and related areas.
Bo and Sally Family Psychology Research Award: Provides awards for research projects related to family psychology.
Jennifer Ann Crecente Memorial Fund: Provides awards for research regarding prevention of teen dating violence.
Manuel Ramirez III Dissertation Award for Ethnic Minority Research: Provides awards for research projects related to Ethnic Minority Psychology.
Rose Costello Education Fund: Provides awards for furthering education in psychology.
Roy Scrivner Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual Issues Award: Provides an annual award for the best student paper on Gay & Lesbian research issues.
Schoenfeld-McCann-Schmidt-Ehrisman Fund for Ethics Education: Provides education in ethics in the field of psychology in the state of Texas.
TPA/TPF-Student Merit Research Awards: Given to one graduate student and one undergraduate student to defray costs of meritorious research projects.
